GUWAHATI: A young swimmer from North Guwahati named Kamal Krishna Das has crossed the Brahmaputra River within 27 minutes. 


Kamal started his feat from Kharguli in Guwahati and reached Madhyam Khana located in North Guwahati in 27 minutes. 


Earlier, Kamal Krishna Das was awarded National Bravery Award by President Ram Nath Kovind for his act of bravery when he saved both his aunt and mother from drowning in the flooded Brahmaputra on 5th September. A resident of North Guwahati, Kamal Krishna Das studies in St. Anthony’s School

Guwahati currently hosts around 500 Durga Pujas. But do you know which one is the oldest? The Uzanbazar Barowari Puja. Fears Prevail that 'LGBI' Might be Preceded by Corporate Name after Adani Takes Over Guwahati Airport.

Will the name of Guwahati's airport - Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) - be relegated to the background and preceded by the name of the corporate behemoth, Adani Group, to which it has been leased out? Days after taking charge of the three airports at Lucknow, Ahemadabad and Mangalore, on a lease of 50 years, Adani Airports' name has been prominently displayed in all of them and it precedes their actual names at nearly all the locations.   The move has raised eyebrows of airport unions which they allege doesn’t seem to conform to the terms of agreement of the lease.
